Avenue Q – Returning to IPAC in October 2013!!
Back by popular demand! SoPopera! are thrilled to announce the return season of the much-loved production of Avenue Q this October!
Avenue Q tells the story of a group of 20-somethings all sharing the same dilapidated back street apartment strip in New York City. Though the characters and plot of this musical bears a resemblance to the much loved Sesame Street – don’t be fooled, this is not a bed time story to tell the kids! Avenue Q addresses and pokes fun at the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood, such as earning a living, finding love and growing up. With 9 of the 12 characters played by puppets, Avenue Q is definitely a show for the naughty at heart with a great sense of humor. In 2003, the Broadway production of Avenue Q won three Tony awards, including Best Musical against hit musical sensation Wicked and has since gone on to international success.
The Last Five Years – Cast!
The Last Five Years has been cast! So Popera! would like to thank all the auditionees for sharing with us their time and talent – it was an honour. Congratulations to Jess Wilkinson and Mitchell Aitcheson on landing the roles of Catherine Hiatt and Jamie Wellerstein.

The Last 5 Years – 17 – 20th March, 2010!
The Last Five Years is a fresh and contemporary musical from Tony-Award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, presenting a young couple’s romance in a new and exciting way.
The Last Five Years opened at Off-Broadway’s Minetta Lane Theatre on March 3rd, 2002 and will make its debut at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre in March 2010!
Every relationship has a beginning and an end…
Jason Robert Brown’s superb 2002 off-Broadway musical hit is brought to Wollongong for the first time by the team that brought you A Grave Affair in 2008.
Jamie, a successful novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress, give contrasting accounts throughout their turbulent five-year relationship.
There are two sides to every story as responsibility for the relationship’s triumphs and failures is blurred.
Featuring two exceptional performers and backed by a chamber orchestra, The Last Five Years explores all the joy, jealousy and heartache of human relationships.
For Bookings, contact www.merrigong.com.au or phone (02) 4224 5999.
AGA – Thankyou!
A big Thankyou goes out to everyone who was involved in and gave the time to see A Grave Affair.
